What do you do with the Error Codes in Life?
The last few days before my husband left on a work mission to Afghanistan tensions in our home ran high. We were exhausted as we stretched our schedules to maximum capacity. Yet, the list of things to do grew longer, while our time together escaped quicker than steam from a kettle.
The children were fighting with each other and with us. Our cats kept trying to hide under our bed knowing fully well they weren’t allowed in the Promised Land. Even our dog became very sick. Bills arrived from all four corners of the world. Our three-year-old central air system stopped working and finally our almost new fridge reported an error code on the control panel the morning of my husband’s departure.
I’d remained calm throughout it all but seeing that code on the fridge panel set something off inside of me. When I escaped to my bathroom I allowed myself a good cry then I asked God to give me peace regarding everything taking place. I was able to sit on my little white throne and giggle about the entire situation. It was still enormous, scary and overwhelming but God made it funny, manageable and full of perspective.
Lord, I welcome peace in my life despite the circumstances. I thank you for your outpouring of blessings into my life even when I struggle through difficult times and that through it all I may be a blessing to others. I thank you for the gift of laughter that allows me to shed perspective on this temporary life. I praise your Holy name Lord. You alone are worthy to be worshiped.
I pray that the Lord, who gives peace, will always bless you with peace. May the Lord be with all of you. (2nd Thessalonians 3:16 CEV)
So tell me, what are the error codes in your life and what do you do with them?
