Mind Boot-camp For Our Spiritual Focus

Warm-up Prayer & Scripture:

Lord, we come before you today asking you to clear our minds, schedules, and hearts to living for you and always giving you the first fruits of our day. We dedicate our focus to worshipping you and hearing from you daily as we seek direction from you what you would have us do with our time, resources, and gifts. Amen.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people. Holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity.” (Colossians 3: 12-17 NIV)

Workout: The Bible demonstrates that God has an armor for women that is every bit as protective and strong as a roman soldier’s armor while being every bit as feminine and fabulous as a black dress. Our minds are susceptible to distraction. This behavior prevents us from centering our worship and devotion to Christ. When this happens consistently, we go “astray” and lose our way from God. Many of us even go off and follow various spirits and gospels that are untrue. Satan will often dress up and “masquerade as an angel of light” to trick us into thinking he is god-like and worthy of worship.

Reflection Questions during Cool-down: God’s “dress” for us can’t be worn until we take off the rags of lies and deception and then put on transparency, and truth. What do you need to take off?

Are there areas in your life you’d like to improve in focus?

Ask yourself: God has a special place in his heart for women and he wants us to wear the finest freedom, contentment, love, joy, confidence, and peace. Have you been wearing all that God wants you to wear? In other words, are you free, content, loving, joyful, confident, and peaceful?

Today: Be purposeful in your focus on God, His word, and the life that you want to create for yourself with the understanding that you can do everything through Christ, who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13 NLT)
